Let's push Plone 7 into the fast lane.
From June 8 to 12, 2026, Plone developers, designers and marketing professionals from around the world are invited to gather in Kerpen — at the offices of Interaktiv GmbH. Five intensive days. Real code. Real momentum. And a community that burns for what it builds. Don't miss your chance.
"Every championship is won lap by lap. We're here to clock the next one — Plone 7 und der hood, the community behind the wheel."
— Jörg Zell, CEO Interaktiv GmbH
What to expect
Focused work sessions on Plone 7 development and marketing. Breakout discussions, collaborative planning and a relaxed atmosphere among like-minded people. And plenty of opportunities to explore the Cologne region together after hours..
Plone 7 Development
Roll up your sleeves and get to work. You'll contribute directly to Plone 7 — coding, improving, refining. Every commit counts. Every idea is welcome. This is your chance to actively shape the next release.
Marketing Follow-Up
Building on the momentum of the Stellenbosch Sprint (January 2026), we'll sharpen Plone's presence together — messaging, materials and more.
Community & Collaboration
Sprints are more than code. They're connections. You'll work side by side with the people who make Plone — share a coffee, exchange ideas and go home with relationships that last.!
Who is this sprint for?
This sprint is aimed at community members experienced in Plone development — or working in marketing, documentation and communications. If you already know about the ongoing initiatives, then you know: things are happening here. Whether you're a core developer, an integrator, a designer or someone who helps spread the word about Plone — your skills and perspective have a place at this sprint. The more diverse the team, the stronger the result.
No formal application required — just a genuine interest in pushing Plone 7 forward and the drive to make things happen. If that sounds like you, we'd love to have you in Kerpen.

The Interaktiv Lab
The sprint takes place at the Interaktiv Lab — our modern workspace in the heart of Kerpen, just 20 minutes from Cologne. The Lab is built for exactly this kind of focused, collaborative work: open spaces for group sessions, quiet corners for deep-focus coding, fast internet, good coffee and everything a team needs to be productive for five days straight. Visteonstr. 9, 50170 Kerpen — easy to reach by car or public transport, with parking on site.
We've made sure the space works for every kind of work — whether you need a quiet spot to focus or a larger area for group discussions and whiteboard sessions, both are available throughout the sprint. And you won't need to think about the basics: we'll take care of lunch, drinks and snacks every day so you can stay in the zone and focus on what matters.
Explore the Region
Kerpen sits just 20 minutes from Cologne — one of Germany's most vibrant cities. After a day of hard sprinting there's plenty to explore, from river cruises and brewery tours to karting and city rallies. There's something for every taste.
Interaktiv Lab Get-Together
Before the engines roar, we gather at the Interaktiv Lab — our home base in Kerpen. The perfect place to meet your fellow sprinters, settle in and get a feel for the team before day one kicks off.
Karting-Schumacher Kart Center
Right on our doorstep: race on the home turf of Michael Schumacher himself. A natural fit for a sprint named Pole Position — and the best way to find out who's the fastest in the community.
Rhine River Cruise (KD)
An evening lounge cruise on the Rhine with spectacular views of Cologne's cathedral skyline. A well-earned moment to breathe after the sprint's most intense days.
Cologne Brewery Tour
Dive into Cologne's legendary Kölsch culture on a guided tour through the city's iconic brewhouses — with tastings included. Because every great sprint deserves a great beer.
Dinner in Kerpen
Kerpen has a solid selection of restaurants right in town — from cosy local spots to relaxed evening dining. We'll pick a place together based on the group's mood, so no matter what you're after, there's something good nearby.
City Scavenger Hunt & Rally
Explore Cologne's Belgian Quarter on foot or compete in a city-wide smart rally — great fun and a natural team competition for a group that already loves a good sprint.
TimeRide Colone
An immersive VR journey — either Cologne in the roaring 1920s or the city in 1945. Unique and thought-provoking for the curious minds in the group.
Motorworld – Butzweilerhof Airfield
A stunning classic car venue at the historic Butzweilerhof airfield. Best enjoyed if you love automobiles — and a table reservation at one of the restaurants on site is a must.
FZ Jülich – Supercomputer Tour
A guided tour of one of Europe's most powerful supercomputers at Forschungszentrum Jülich. A bit off the beaten path — but potentially mind-blowing.
